Slice tender beef rib eye marinated in house BBQ sauce
Bulgogi, which literally means “Fire Meat”, is made by marinating beef rib eye and then eaten grilled or stir-fried. It is one of the most well-known and popular meat dishes of Korea. Its popularity leads it to being served at fancy restaurants as well being made at home.
The origins of Bulgogi dates back to the Goguryeo era (37 BC - 668 AD), and it was called “makjeok”, which was beef grilled on a skewer. It was called “neobani” during the Joseon Era, which meant “thinly spread” meat, and was primarily prepared for the wealthy and nobility. Today, bulgogi is no longer primarily eaten as a barbeque skewer, but a skewer variant still exist as “Bulgogi Sanjeok”.
